San Sebastian here we come!

Epic eight and a half hour drive down from Penestin - all sharing the driving and we were in San Sebastian well before sundown!!!

Margaret negotiated the mean streets of San Sebastian in the rush hour like a local and we picked up the keys to our fab apartment (grand entrance below), parked the car underground for the week and ventured out to explore the night city and sample our first tapas.  And we all fell in love with San Sebastian from the moment we set foot . . .
the Plaza de la ConstituciĆ³n, which was used as an early bullring back in 1723
Interesting to see bullfighting was banned for 3 years in San Sebastian and only returned this year, in the new Plaza de Toros de Illumbe  which we could see from across the bay
a late night treat on the way back
We had our main tapas in a lovely and lively friendly bar simply called Bar Sport on Calle Fermin Calbatron then some extras later in the bar in the photos above.

And then it was back to the apartment for a card tournament into the early hours - sevens this time!!
