and home towns

and have to remember home towns are also a bit brill . . .
This was the morning after the night before's wedding and a day in Liverpool, starting with the magnificent St George's Hall and the Minton floor's annual uncovering . . .
Camerawork by able assistant Jess, so I make a rare appearance on the blog!
 Liver birds galore
said beautiful floor

statues too many to name . . .

and then it was over the road to the newly refurbished Central Library
great poem in the entrance by Levi Tafari
the original Picton Reading Rooms - beautifully restored
then up onto the roof

the city spread at our feet
the good old Empire in the background - home of my first teenage gigs
 more Liver birds
 and sun worhshipers

and finishing off on Rodney Street for a fabulous early dinner

a glimpse of the mighty cathedral over the road
and a great day was had by all . . .
