delving down

31 March 2016

Beautiful day for a hike up the ever wonderful Win Hill
 birds cheeping, skies blue
 wind in our hair
and finally at that glorious summit with it's 360deg views
 a big hug
and a well earned piece of barabrith before heading down again into the Hope Valley
beautiful evening sun slanting across the hills
and back to Grenoside for a treaty Pete's fish and chip supper.

Friday 1 April

Back into Derbyshire and up beyond Castleton - lambs galloping down the hillside
as we approach Treak Cliff Cavern for our descent underground
great veins of Blue John and the only cavern where it's still mined
 concentrating with our guide
 fossils galore
 and more semi precious stone
as we crouch low through the tunnels
to reach this amazing web of spooky natural caves
and finally out into the hillside
back into Sheffield and straight over to Peddler Market at Burton Street for some amazing street food and fun.
First off a bowl of chana masala from Manjit's Kitchen and a gin and elderflower cocktail from ShedSoda
  Depot Bakery's tempting donuts . . .
but finally tore ourselves away for a sneak pre-birthday celebration with someone special ....
so - - - - - - Happy Birthday this week someone special - have a wonderful time
