testing your Sheffield

This weekend just gone found us at several Sheffield Poetry Festival events, listening to River Wolton, Julia Copus, Paula Cunnningham and Gillian Clarke.  All brilliant.  And our final one was a walk around Sheffield tracing the medieval, Georgian and wartime city with Rob Hindle.

So rather than tell you were we started and finished - see if you can guess the locations, some have got little hints left in to help!  Answers in the comments box or on a postcard . . . . . .

buried treasure

A ton of rocks had to come out to leave this pristine herb bed
 into which went:
Marjoram
Flat leaf parsley

Tarragon
Thyme
Chives

Mint

and voila!!

so what about the rest of the jungle?

and this buried treasure with a hallmark no less - more when I've cleaned it up

on the edge

This time last week we spent a happy day being blown about up on Curbar Edge with Heather and Peter, followed by a dainty cake and cuppa at Cintra's tea rooms in Hathersage.

But first, a nostalgic visit up the top of our village
before we went up aloft
There were climbers clambering up the edge
 and wildebeesties glaring ferociously
and wandering precariously close to the edge
beautiful grasses and cottongrass

 fabulously strange rock formations
It was as glorious as ever up there on top of the world
and lovely to have friends to share it with.

up hill and down dale

London weekend Part IV

carefully following Margaret over the canal
through London Fields
and Hackney, with a small diversion in an amazing sewing shop Our Patterned Hand

we arrived back safe and sound to negotiate two spiral staircases with our buys

and onto the roof (where our story started the day before)

the old school bell

then it was the end of our trip, and going
 going
 gone
but by the time we'd hit the North, the deed had been done
wow !!!
