over the bridge

Our jaunt to Wales started on the Saturday - so if you want to start at the beginning click here first

MONDAY

Over the fabled Menai Bridge to Beaumaris, with a quick cuppa and sandwich in this rather swish tea room, complete with cosy characters.

Mum still sunburned from the beach at Aberdaron yesterday!
taking a turn about the town
and a stroll along the pier
then a step back in time to school (age eleven) for Mike!!  Right next to the castle
first school to go comprehensive in the UK
then on to Menai Bridge (Porthaethwy) down by the quay
where the old timber yard used to be where Grandpa Hughes worked

and onward to the swish Dylan's where the saw mill once stood
 for delicious Anglesey mussels

 and views of Telford's masterpiece

TUESDAY

All good things must end and Tuesday saw us driving home, but time for a quick stop and shop in Llandudno in the sun!  Lunch at the lovely Hambone Cafe
and a drool over someone's favourite chocolate - monster size - spotted in Marks and Sparks
and that my dear beloved was that - the end of a brilliant holiday
