The tide was out.
I know - too many came the cry - but it was just so incredible standing there with the light and patterns changing so quickly.
These are the very railings I've taken sunset pictures from for all of my life - trying to catch that certain rosy glow over Hilbre.

BEAUTIFUL photographs. Thanks for the memories, though the ice cream is remembered more fondly than those treacherous tides. Were we really rescued by a tractor?

Yes we were - and also told off in no uncertain terms as reckless teenagers ignoring the oncoming tide on our hike back from Hilbre!!
